German Culture Days at the Beijing Horticultural Expo
Parliamentary State Secretary Fuchtel at the German Garden exhibition
Acting as the commissioner general of the German Pavilion, Parliamentary State Secretary for the Federal Ministry for Food and Agriculture Hans-Joachim Fuchtel took part in the German Culture Days on 25 August 2019 at the Beijing Horticultural Expo.
State Secretary Fuchtel issued the following statement at the German Culture Days:
"The German Garden has so far been one of the most popular exhibits at the Beijing Horticultural Expo, and has seen almost a million visitors. Our Culture Days are another cultural highlight showcasing the rich variety of Germany's natural habitats six weeks before the end of the EXPO. We will also be exhibiting innovative technologies, processes and initiatives from Germany in our contribution to sustainable agriculture and horticulture."
German Culture Days at the 2019 Horticultural Expo
The German Garden exhibition is hosting a wide variety of presentations on different aspects of modern horticulture, especially in urban areas, in line with the EXPO "Live Green, Live Better" theme at the German Culture Days between 19 and 26 August 2019. Preservation of bees in urban areas will be given special focus, by which the German Culture Days will be demonstrating the contribution Germany has been making towards sustainable growth preserving quality of life in urban centres.
The Stammheim eV and Trachtenkapelle Althengstett eV musical societies are providing musical accompaniment with traditionally German fare during the German Culture Days.
The German Garden exhibition at the 2019 Horticultural Expo
The German Garden exhibition at the EXPO will be presenting innovative ideas, green technologies and innovative processes in modern state-of-the-art horticulture from Germany against the background of burgeoning megacities across the world. At around eight thousand visitors daily, the German Garden exhibition has proven to be one of the most popular national exhibitions at the World Expo. The German Garden exhibition has been organised by Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH on commission from the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture.
About the 2019 Horticultural Expo
This year's International Horticultural Exhibition is taking place from 29 April to 7 October 2019 at the foot of the Great Wall in Yanqing District, which is around 75 km northwest of the centre of Beijing. The EXPO grounds occupy an area of around 960 hectares with 500 hectares for the exhibition area. Around eight-six countries are taking part in addition to a hundred inland provinces, regions, communities, and national and international companies and organisations.
